The tailoring workshop from Neema Crafts on Vimeo.

A group of deaf and disabled women make up this group of expert tailors. They assemble and stitch a wide variety of clothing, bags, cushions and other goods including our Neema Crafts Dolls and Hobby horses in the shape of zebras, giraffes and other animals. New designs are always being added to our collection and they are always happy to take individual orders and designs and fit a garment to you.
We use a wide range of fabrics, mainly focusing on fabulously colourful African printed cottons, tie-dies and batiks. Some are made on-site such as our hand-dyed woven textiles or our batiked or tie-dyed cottons made by Patrick and his team. We also make the most of the amazing variety of traditional African materials available in the Kitenge and Kangas which provide such a splash of colour to any African scene. These are incorporated into clothing, bags and cushions either in the classic Neema Crafts quilted patchworks, used whole or embellished with beaded embroidery from our out-workers.
Watch out for new products as we develop them, and do send us your ideas of what you would like to see.
