We have a vision for the Physiotherapy department for the future. The management team at Neema Crafts is constantly pulled in many different ways managing all the aspects of the project. We feel the Physiotherapy department would benefit from having much more management time than we can currently give to enable it to grow to reach the many children out there who desperately need treatment.
We would like to see the physiotherapy department become it's own independent project, still under the Neema name and coordinating and sharing a vision with the rest of Neema Crafts but managing itself. This will give it the scope to fundraise more efficiently and to expand it's work.
We are looking for a long term Mission Partner who is a skilled Paediatric Physiotherapist to take this exciting project on and work alongside Beatrice (our present Physio). We are looking for someone who is willing to sign up for a minimum of 3-6 years.
As a part of this we want to send Beatrice to study for her degree at KCMC, Moshi (when she qualified the highest level obtainable in Tanzania was Diploma. We would love her to start in September 2011. For this to happen we have to secure £4000 a year for three years to cover her course fees and living costs. There is a possibility of some government sponsorship in the form of a loan but we would still need to secure £2000 a year for three years with this option. If you feel you could help us in some way towards this target and become a part of an exciting new project, please do get in touch.

Currently we are only partially funded for 2012. It costs us around £14,000 a year to run the physiotherapy unit. In the past we have been generously supported by individual companies or generous individuals. We are a fantastic project for your company to take on. You can support your own project rather than being a small part of a bigger organisations work. All the success stories resulting from your support will be down to your company alone. We can provide plenty of feedback of the benefits of your funding for your company to use in it's publicity and marketing. For 2012 we are currently looking for another £9800 in funding. We also encourage individuals to become regular givers to help us support this valuable work. Please get in touch if you feel you can help in this way.
We are always needing to supply new equipment to the disabled children receiving therapy, as new children come or as they grow out of the chairs, standing frames and walking aids or orthopaedic shoes. There is always a need for new and replacement equipment and also for things like wound dressings etc. One way of helping us with this is to buy your friends and families presents for birthdays and Christmas through Zawadi where you can give a gift of for example a walking frame for a disabled child to someone. Do consider this for your gifts this year or contact us directly to help in this area.
We provide a nutrition programme for many of our children who are often so badly malnourished that they do not have the strength to do the exercises they need to improve their disability. We provide a fortified porridge to those most in need on a monthly basis. This costs £8 per child per month. Could you become a regular giver and commit to helping one or more children in this way each month?
